At Tudor Grange Samworth Primary Academy, we understand the essential role that Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education plays in preparing our pupils to become healthy, independent, and responsible members of society. To ensure this is delivered effectively, we follow the Jigsaw PSHE programme—a comprehensive, whole-school approach designed to nurture the development of the whole child.

Why Jigsaw?

Jigsaw integrates PSHE with emotional literacy, mindfulness, social skills, and spiritual development in a structured and engaging format. It is fully aligned with statutory Relationships and Health Education requirements and offers age-appropriate content for every stage, from Early Years through to Year 6.

Jigsaw is built around six half-termly units (‘puzzles’), each with a whole-school focus:

This consistent structure ensures progression and continuity across all year groups.

Jigsaw fosters an environment of respect and inclusion, encouraging children to appreciate differences, celebrate diversity, and develop empathy towards others.  Through a carefully designed curriculum, pupils gain the knowledge and skills they need to navigate life confidently—both in and beyond the classroom—building wellbeing, resilience, and the ability to thrive.

LYFTA

Once a week during tutor time, we follow the LYFTA programme, focusing on our Tudor Values and the protected characteristics. This programme has been thoughtfully tailored for all year groups, from EYFS through to Year 6.

LYFTA is an immersive learning platform that enriches Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE) through captivating storyworlds and interactive experiences. It enables pupils to explore diverse cultures and perspectives, fostering critical thinking, empathy, and resilience. The platform offers curriculum-based lesson plans covering key themes such as sustainability, wellbeing, and human diversity, making it an invaluable resource for PSHE education.
