I have had a lifelong career in education. I have been a senior manager in secondary schools for 25 years, including roles as Headteacher, Executive Principal and CEO of a Multi-Academy Trust. I ended my career as a Regional Schools Commissioner for the DfE. My skills lie in strategic management and leadership. My hobbies include travelling, gardening and reading. My interest in governance arises from my desire to give back on a voluntary basis to a sector which provided me with a wonderful working life and career.

Having been involved in this school for many years I was keen to help where I could with accelerating the progress the school is making. I have excellent skills in terms of Academy finance and governance and wanted to use these skills where possible. My hobbies include wood-working, cooking and puzzles, and I enjoy most sports.
Mrs J Saunders
Appointed as Teacher of Health and Food, Jennifer has introduced two new subjects into the Academy curriculum; Children’s Play, Learning and Development and Sociology. Having worked across five subjects during her time at the school, and currently as Head of Social Sciences and RE, she has made a genuine investment in the Christian ethos of the Academy community. This goes further at the Trust level where she is currently undertaking research connected to the value of the Christian ethos of Church schools. Working as Trust Lead for Assessment and Moderation for RE has allowed her to work closely and benefit from the links of our Academy Trust. As teacher governor for nearly a year, Jennifer is committed to her continued strong links with the school and Trust.
Mr M Simpson
Having previously served as a Parent Governor (my son Thomas is in Year 9) on the previous Board, I was asked to join the new Board in an independent capacity. I work in the Marketing Division of the University of Leicester, drawing on skills and experience from 20+ years of communicating for a living which I am also able to apply to the Academy when required.

Being a governor gives me the opportunity to raise my confidence and learn and gain new experiences. The will to do something new and explore my skills and abilities have made me join as governor.
