We had a wonderful first session where parents accompanied the children and were able to develop an understanding of how the Nursery session runs. Followed by a couple of shorter sessions, for the children, very quickly all children were attending for their full allocation of hours. The children are making the most of their new environment and have had lots of opportunities to explore our inside and outside environments. They are beginning to build meaningful relationships with both the adults and the children in the Nursery class. To help the children settle and cope with separating from their adult, we have been reading ‘Owl Babies’ and thinking about how the baby Owls felt when their mum was gone and how they felt when she came back. The children have also completed lots of Owl related activities. Watch this space for more exciting news on what the Nursery children are learning and the skills they are developing.
