Year 1 have had an exciting journey of discovery across the curriculum this term. In Geography, the children explored the vibrant region of Gujarat in India. They learned about the culture, climate, and traditions of the area, and even had the chance to taste some delicious Gujarati food—a real highlight that brought their learning to life!

In History, Year 1 travelled back in time to learn about how people enjoyed their holidays in the past. They compared holidays long ago with those we enjoy today, sparking lots of thoughtful discussions and curiosity.

A special experience this term was a visit from the museum service. The children loved dressing up in Victorian costumes and had the opportunity to handle and explore a range of Victorian artefacts, helping them to better understand life in the past.

We have also enjoyed taking part in Outdoor Classroom Day, where the children explored different areas for learning beyond the classroom. From nature-based activities to creative play, it was a wonderful day full of engagement and discovery.
