Durham took the top spot for Bake Off this year by a single point, as their bakes were judged on design and creativity, presentation, taste, teamworking and hygiene and kitchen skills. The judging, kindly undertaken by Mr Bannon and his team, was done without knowing whose cake belonged to each college. In the kitchen the atmosphere was collaborative, with all students being supportive and helpful to each other, and working together, to meet the strict hour deadline from start to end of judging. Bake Off has always been a popular College Competition each year, and this year was no exception, with amazing designs offered from all Colleges and Tutor groups. Many thanks to all who entered, supported, judged, and baked, and a special thanks to our wonderful technician Kaye Ellul, without whom, these special events would not be possible.
