On National Poetry Day we celebrated with a visit from the performance poet Ty’rone Haughton. Years 1 through to Year 6 took part in performance poetry, asking lots of meaningful questions to further their understanding of poetry and how it can have a positive influence on their creativity. Year 6 then took part in a workshop where they wrote and performed their own poetry. Everyone really enjoyed Ty’rones visit and it was a privilege to have him join us. It was a wonderful way to celebrate National Poetry Day.
