In Year 3 we are looking at instructions for our writing unit. As it was Egyptian day, we took the opportunity to follow the steps to mummify a Pharaoh. The children removed the organs and carefully placed them in canopic jars. Once we had waited for 70 days, we were able to wrap the body in bandages to make sure the Pharaoh had a good trip to the afterlife. 

In Year 3 we are also reading the book My Strong Mind. We have been learning about what it means to have a strong mind and to have resilience. We followed instructions to make a paper boat, then we sailed them in water. 

All of the children had determination to complete the task and didn’t give up even when they found it challenging.
