On Thursday 25th May 2023 we had the pleasure of Joe Wicks joining us at Tudor Grange Samworth Academy as part of his UK Schools Tour. After an application put through by Miss Hancox, we were one of only 12 schools selected from over 26,000, and the only one in Leicester!

Whilst with us Joe led a 20 minute workout session out on the field with nursery to year 8 students. Students and teachers all joined in with smiles on their faces, completing many different exercises including star jumps, sprinting and even press ups. Students then had the opportunity to ask Joe questions; we found out about what inspires him, what motivates him and also his favourite football team (to some of the student’s disappointment it was Chelsea!) It was a pleasure to greet Joe into our school with such a warm welcome and he enjoyed meeting all of our staff and students. His phrase of the day was “keep moving, keep smiling”.
