Our focus for December was the Nativity. We read several versions of the Nativity story and continued to rehearse the Christmas Nativity play. The children all enjoyed learning the songs, especially ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ which we learnt in Makaton. The children really enjoyed dressing up for the performances and performed amazingly for their audience.

During December, we also completed some science activities and the children especially enjoyed experimenting with objects to see if they would float or sink.

In Early December, we had a visit from members of the Samworth family. Before they came, we spoke about why our school has the Samworth name in it and we learnt some of the things that the Samworth company do. We found out that one of the many things they do is make sandwiches, so we had a go at making our own jam sandwiches.

The month concluded with some lovely Christmas crafts and a visit from parents on one day to help us with our crafts. Finally, we had some fantastic Christmas parties and a visit from Santa.
