In November, the Nursery children have been learning about the different jobs people do and especially people that help us. First, we learnt all about firefighters and turned our Ark into a fire engine. We had lots of stories about fire fighters and the children were able to dress up and pretend to be firefighters, using spray bottles to put out the imaginary fires. We also looked at the job of a police officer and the children especially enjoyed arresting each other. We did speak about the other jobs police do. During Remembrance week we spoke about the forces and the different roles they play in keeping our country safe. We also looked at the significance of a poppy and then created lots to help us remember those that have fallen. Finally, we looked at the role of postal workers and the journey of a letter. The children absolutely loved writing letters, folding them, sticking a stamp on and posting them in our letter box. As well as our regular activities, we had a lovely visit to the local library with lots of the parents coming too. We also completed a sponsored obstacle course for Children in Need and raised £61.
