As you may be aware, the Department for Education (DfE) have published new statutory guidance for school in relation to Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE). Schools have a statutory duty to follow this guidance and develop a curriculum that meets the requirements within. The guidance in full can be found below:

At Tudor Grange Samworth Academy, we are proud to have prioritised high quality PSHE and RSHE education for a number of years and have embedded a programme of study that is appropriate for the age and stage of development of our pupils. As such, the new statutory guidance requires very little change from our existing curriculum already in place.

The DfE have produced Frequently Asked Questions information for parents which can be accessed below:

There is also a guide for primary school parents which can be accessed below:

Curriculum Resources

Our PSHE and RSHE curriculums will both be delivered through the Jigsaw programme, which we have been using successfully in school for the last 4 years. It is an inclusive and engaging approach which is loved by pupils and teachers alike and we are proud to be a “Jigsaw school”. The programme is continuously updated so we can be sure that the curriculum we are sharing with our pupils is current and appropriate.

Further information about the Jigsaw approach to PSHE can be found below:

The curriculum may be supplemented by other high quality resources from a range of sources. All resources are carefully selected to ensure that they are of a high standard, factually accurate and developmentally appropriate for use.

We are committed to delivering carefully planned RSHE education to all our children and use the Jigsaw scheme of work to do so.
