Pathways Virtual Year 9 Summer Sports Camp

When:

19th July – 30th July (inclusive)

Who:

Year 9 Student

What:

During summer term club students will have the chance to:

  • Learn and hear from special elite athletes
  • Develop and enhance their knowledge in sports
  • Live sessions from the Youth Dreams Projects Coaches
  • Discover different pathways into a future in sport that are on offer to you at College and University

This allows students the chance to explore the different Sport routes available to them at further and higher education level. By having industry professionals take part, students can gain an insight into some of the jobs or industries that these could lead to. Students may choose to participate all of this in the comforts of their own home.

Where:

Online (Zoom and Edmodo) – Pathways will be using the Zoom platform suitable for under 16s and using Edmodo as their accompanying online community space where students can share their work, give and receive feedback, and learn more about education and career routes into Sports. They will be enforcing all safeguarding practices currently in place for online student intervention. The sessions will be fully risk assessed (copies available upon request) and Pathways staff will be supervising the live sessions at all times.

Wednesday 21st July 10:00 – 11:30
Friday 23rd July: 10:00 – 11:30
Wednesday 28th July: 10:00 – 11:00
Friday 30th July: 10:00 – 11:00

  • Demonstrate knowledge of University and the benefits it can offer
  • Know their options relating to future qualifications and be able to make informed choices
  • Be motivated to reach their academic potential and maintain academic performance
  • Develop and evidence key transferrable skills required to achieve future qualifications and career ambitions
