Secondary – ‘Going to Extremes’ Performance

 
Monday afternoon saw the whole of our Year 9, 10 and 11 students receive the ‘Going to Extremes’ performance delivered from Alter Ego Creative Solutions. This intervention helped our students to understand the concepts of extremism and radicalisation, and this certainly had an impact. Our students were fully engaged in the lively play, which acted out the stories of 3 young people all affected by these issues. The purpose of this was to generate discussion and encourage students to question and contemplate what they see and hear. This is all part of our ongoing effort to “educate against hate” and promote tolerance and respect within the academy and beyond it.
